When Janelle Orcherton introduced herself on the very first evening that the Healing the Land Team was in Kangirsujuaq (Wednesday, October 10), she shared ho)w that a part of her ancestry was Inuit.  Immediately, the Inuit from this eastern community of Kangiqsujuaq, including Pastor Annie Tertiluk, were so overjoyed that they relationally adopted her on the spot as one of their own family, tribe and kindred!  There was a deep heart connection that took place.

Welcoming the Canada Awakening Healing the Land Team to Kangirsujuaq, Nunavik (northern Quebec
The name "Kangirsujuaq" means "the large bay" in Inuktitut.  It is located on the Ungava Peninsula, on the Hudson Strait.
The Inuit lifestyle from antiquity was to travel in small clans of two to three families as a nomadic people who roamed to wherever food was a available.  The picture on the left was taken in 1909.  At that time, Kangirsujuaq was not a settled community, but a trading post store established by the Revillon Brothers, a French fur company that by that year had 48 stores in its Eastern Arctic division, while the Hudson Bay Company had 52.
By 1914, the HBC also had a trading post at Kangirsujuaq.  Many of the Inuit villages in Nunavik, including Kangirsujuaq, are located on sites originally occupied by these early trading posts.
So on the morning of Thursday, October 11, 2018, the Canada Awakening Healing the Land Team met in the Municipal Board room with of Kangirsujuaq with Mayor Charlie Arngak seated at the head of the table, along with local leaders such as Mark and Annie Tertiluk and other elders.  Plans began to be made for the coming week.  Later that morning, between 11:00 a.m. and 12:00 noon, the team would minister on the local radio station for an hour.  That afternoon, the team would minister in homes that opened the door for us to come and to pray over any family issues, a ministry that turned out to be very edifying and fruitful for local families.
That evening, there would be a Protocol Welcome to the Healing the Land Team at the local Community Hall, with welcomes being given by local officials and elders, and gifts being presented to the hosts by the guests in appreciation for the open door for this ministry to take place on the soil of Kangirsujuaq and region.
After Mayor Charlie Arngak gave an official welcome, he was presented with an official blanket from the City of Winnipeg, and the symbolism of the blanket is that a blanket is a covering, and we were presenting this blanket with the proclamation of a spiritual covering to be over Mayor Charlie, that he would be protected against all attacks which were meant to hurt him.  Our prayer was that instead of receiving hurt, that he would receive only healing so that he might lead this community on an ancient pathway of peace and rest rather than to add to the stress and the suffering.

With Annie Tertiluk translating, Roger Armbruster shared so as to explain that the creation mandate that God gave to our first earthly father, Adam, was to “fill the earth” (Genesis 1:28).  God’s children were to fill the earth with His presence, to fill the earth with His love, to fill the earth with His joy and peace.  Instead, Adam and Eve’s first child became a murderer, and the innocent blood of Abel cried out from the ground for vengeance and for justice.  The land would no longer co-operate with Cain as a result , and he became a fugitive and a vagabond (Genesis 4:12).
By Noah’s day, even more innocent blood was crying out from the group for justice, and “the earth was filled with violence” (Genesis 6:13).
By the time that Jesus came on the scene, it had come to the reality that a lot of innocent blood was crying out from the ground for justice, and now the only hope for healing the land was by an application of the blood of Jesus which speaks of better things than that of Abel’s blood.  His blood cries out from the ground for mercy and for forgiveness with a voice that has already been heard in heaven, but it needs to be heard and applied here on earth as well.  The work of Jesus is finished and complete, but the mission of the Church is not yet finished.
So while the First Adam failed to fill the earth with God’s Presence, the Last Adam ushered in a New Creation with a plan to fill the earth with His Presence that will not fail!  His eternal plan was and is the Church, and this plan will not fail, because He has raised the Church up to sit together with Him in the heavenly places far above all principalities and powers and rulers and authorities that continue to oppress and to deceive people.  God’s plan is to raise up a Church in every nation and community on the earth that will operate in the spiritual authority that they have been given, and to reign in life, not over the freewill of others, but over the demonic world that is opposed to all human beings.
It is through the eternal Church that God will ultimately fill all things with His loving Presence that is not holding the wrongs of others against them (II Corinthians 5:19).  Jesus is not the accuser of the brethren (Revelation 12:11) but is our Advocate who is pleading our case, pleading that His blood that paid the penalty that we deserved to pay (I John 2:1, 2) will be believed in and applied.  God wants to fill not only individuals, but whole communities and regions with His Presence in a way that will cleanse the land of the accusing voices and defilements, and then fill the earth with the voice of our Advocate and of the blood of the New Covenant out so that through the Church He can fill all things!!!
Because God created humans in His own image and likeness with a free-will, He will not force Himself upon individuals, families, communities or nations.  He will come only where He is welcomed and invited.  The people of Kangirsujuaq, along with their leaders, were encouraged with the fact that they not only have the spiritual authority to cleanse the land of its defilements by an application of the blood of Jesus.
They also have the spiritual authority to welcome the Holy Spirit into this community and into this territory so that God can fill this part of the earth with His healing Presence.  His Presence is absolutely needed in order to prepare a safe place where people can talk about the things that have caused them pain without fear or bitterness.  Then they can release the forgiveness and the joy that is needed for healing to take place.  True forgiveness means that the past is over.  Grace means that the future will not be as the past.
